Abstract: As the share value of many options companies remains low and many people's options are underwater, this article examines some of the assumptions and unrealistic expectations that led to the "option blues." It draws on exclusive organizational attitude data to suggest some concrete ways employees react to the downturn in value, and explores altnernate ways to think about and communicate option plans in a slow economy.
